Arno Kopecky is a freelance journalist and travel writer. A graduate of the University of Victoria's
Creative Writing and Environmental Studies programs, his work has appeared in The Walrus Magazine,
Harper's, the Toronto Star, the Globe and Mail, and other publications.
 
Arno's assignments have taken him to Oaxaca, Reykjavik, Bali and beyond. Whether reporting on social unrest
in southern Mexico or the latest blood-doping tactics of Olympic athletes, his prose offers readers a
well-traveled look at a world in flux.
 
He is currently based in Nairobi, Kenya, working as a features reporter for east Africa's largest newspaper,
